Anthropic’s Claude models are the strongest option for dossier’s proposals and assistant. You need an API key — note that this is separate from a claude.ai subscription.
Get a key
- Sign in at console.anthropic.com.
- Create an API key (it starts with
sk-ant-) and add a small amount of credit. Filing runs cost cents, not euros — dossier sends only the text snippet needed to classify each document, and caches the stable part of the prompt so batch runs don’t re-pay for your convention on every file.
Connect it
- In dossier: Settings → AI → Provider: Anthropic (Claude API).
- Paste the key. It is stored in the macOS Keychain, never in the catalog database or a config file.
- Pick a model from the list — dossier fetches the models actually available on your account, so there’s nothing to type.
That’s it. New files in the INBOX now get proposals, and the Assistant tab can answer questions about your documents.
